Gentlemen,

I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your

letter of lat inst. and I am much obliged for your interesting in-

formations and for the copy of the letter of the Harbour Depart. whic

prove that the AGA System has also been a success in China waters.

The Harbour Depart. has shown for some time an in-

terest in this System and Mr. Artberg and Mr. Mellin of the Svenska

B. Gasaccumulator, Stockholm have both practically demonstrated

this system to the Harbour Master and a trial installation was

erected at the Harbour Department viz.

1 Lantern L. 200/1. with light apparatus, complete with sunvalve

and gasaccumulators, which worked satisfactorily but although

everything went allright, apprehensions are still entertained whether

this system will be reliable out here in the East and whether the

Harbour Depart. can always rely upon a sufficient supply of Gas.

The lack of funds was so far responsible for not erecting the additional necessary lights which are badly needed.

You were kind enough and stated the places where the installations in Hongkong and on the China Coast are erected, would you perhaps be in a position and be good enough and give me if possible the following details of these installations viz.)
